An Astonishing Economic Force
Recently at the World Economic Forum in Davos, FIFA President Gianni Infantino shared some astounding figures. According to a study by FIFA and the WTO, the World Cup is poised to generate $80.1 billion globally. Expect a boost of $40.9 billion in GDP and the creation of 824,000 jobs. Infantino remarked, “There is nothing anywhere close to what football does. It changes the mood not just of people, but of countries.”

Following Infantino’s insights, a fascinating panel discussion took place. It featured notable figures such as FIFA’s Chief of Global Football Development, Arsene Wenger. Alongside him was the Italian 2006 World Cup winner, Alessandro Del Piero. These icons shared their views on football’s influential role globally.

Liverpool was represented by its CEO, Billy Hogan. Meanwhile, McLaren F1’s Zak Brown and Formula E CEO Jeff Dodds made notable appearances. Amanda Staveley, once of Newcastle United, also participated. The Belgian Pro League’s CEO, Lorin Parys, added a continental touch.
